Hello! Welcome back to school! I would like to take a moment and introduce myself. My name is Lauren Douie. I will be the self contained teacher working with you this year. My goal is to provide a warm, welcoming, successful and motivational classroom.
I believe the key to a successful classroom is a positive attitude, support, motivation, fun, and communication. I will be working with our students throughout the year to make progress on their IEP goals in Literacy, Writing, Mathmatics, Science, and Social Studies. I will be working closely with the rest of the teaching team to plan various activities in the inclusive environment.
I am sure at this point you are wondering about me! So, I will give you a little background information. As I said my name is Lauren Douie, this is my 7th year as a special education teacher. Prior to joining the wonderful team here at Samuel Mickle I taught in Delaware. I have spent two years in a 4th grade Math and English Language Arts inclusive classroom, and two years in a 6th grade Science and Social Studies inclusive classroom. During the 2015-2016 school year I worked in the 6th grade resource room setting here at Samuel Mickle School! During the 2016-2017 school year I began teaching in the self contained setting. I am beyond excited for this year at Samuel Mickle! I know we will have a great year together!
I want to thank you for your support as we venture through this year! I look forward to meeting you at the Back to School Night on September 19th. I will be in touch to update you on what we are working on in the classroom. If you have questions or concerns please feel free to call me at 856.423.0412 x3109 or email me at [email protected].
